We both went outside. Sid had a red Ford Escape covered in snow behind her small house.
She swiftly swiped the snow off of the front window, opened the driver's door of the car, and started the ignition.
"Ready when you are!" Sid exclaimed.
I opened the passenger door, and got in my seat. We then shut both doors at the same time and fastened our seatbelts.
A Little Piece of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold was blaring out of the car radio.
"Should take about the duration of this song to reach the nearby restaurant." Sid said, "Right between Reverend Lane and Synyster Road."
The forest outside that we were driving through was like a wavy white blur with specks of snow flying through the strong wind. Contrary to what other people would think of snowy weather and strong wind, I think that nature is calming and beautiful.
A couple minutes later Sid stopped the car in front of a large brick building with a bunch of windows, a large neon red sign saying 'Westview Eatery', and one of those fancy see-through auto-opening double doors.
Sid opened her car door, unfastened her seatbelt, got out, and closed the door and I followed suit.
I held Sid's hand as we walked up to the restaurant door, waited while it slowly opened, and walked inside of a building that had a hell of a 50s diner vibe inside. The walls on the inside were made of brick but painted a bright shade of red. The walls had a large black and white checkerboard strip around the perimeter and there were vinyls, guitars, photographs of people old school bands, and even autographs from famous music artists on the wall. The floor also had a checkerboard design. There were large diner tables of puffy red dining chairs (several of them preoccupied by people eating out) placed evenly across the right and left walls. On the back wall was a green employees only door, a jukebox (Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac was playing through it), a modern radio, and several counters with dishes and food on top and the front most counter had a cash register with a blonde-haired woman in a pink café uniform standing beside the register.
"Looks like that table close to the counter is unoccupied. How about you take a seat there while I make the orders? Also would you like a beverage to go with your pizza?" Sid said.
"Alright! If they have any Bloody Mary's I'll take one. If not I'm alright with a beer." I replied.
Sid leaned towards me and whispered "You have an ID for those? I know your of legal age for alcohol but they might do ID'ing."
I pulled out a small card from my pants and handed it to Sid who took it out of my hand.
Sid then walked up to the cashier, leaned against the counter and stated "I'd like to order two boxes of supreme pizza and my friend wants to order a Bloody Mary or a beer if you can't do a Bloody Mary."
"Show you and your friend's ID." The cashier said monotonously.
Sid pulled out a small card like mine from her jeans pocket. She showed both IDs to the cashier.
"Sidney Boulanger, June 21, 1998. That would make you 19. Marcus Rousseau, December 5, 1964. That would make your friend 52. Two supreme pizza's and a Bloody Mary coming right up." The cashier replied.
The cashier went into the employee's only room and Sid sat down in the seat in front of me.
Sid handed my ID back to me and said "Marcus, eh?"
"Snatched that from my dad's room when he went to get a hammer to crack my head open if I didn't leave the house in ten minutes." I replied.
"That's extreme." Sid barked.
"He claims I'm a danger to everyone in the house for just existing. He says I'm 'unholy' and should burn and get crucified." I said.
"He's one of those people. Fables shouldn't be taken seriously especially the ones that promote hateful agendas like that! Your dad is a bloody wacko!" Sid barked.
A man suddenly appeared right behind where Sid was sitting. This man had a luscious beard, scruffy hair, and jet black eyes. This man wore black thick black glasses, a red and black plaid jacket, a Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt, a wristwatch, jeans, black sneakers, and a red guitar strapped to their back.
"Hey, you two by any chance know where the person running the store is?" The man queried.
"Yeah, she went in to the employee's only room to get two boxes of supreme pizza and a Bloody Mary or beer." Sid replied.
"Thanks mate!" The man said "Need to get some stuff to do with the concert taken care of."
"Concert?" I said curiously.
"Yeah! I'm going to be playing on the stage right behind this restaurant and do some covers. Anyone who orders at least fifty dollars worth of stuff from here will be given two free tickets for the concert!" the man replied ecstatically.
"What's your stage name?" I queried.
"The Elite Vigo but you can call me Dan." the man replied.
Dan glanced towards the direction of the door and windows.
"What the fuck? It's November 28th. Why the hell is that guy in the window wearing a Halloween costume." Dan barked.
Me and Sid looked to where Dan was glancing and we saw out the window what looked like a man wearing blood red robes and a brown leather mask. The mask had a extremely creepy looking wide smile and rectangle cut-outs for the eyes.
"That is definitely unsettling to look at." Sid muttered.
"Pizzas and the Bloody Mary are ready Miss Boulanger." said the cashier who came out of the employees room and jumping me, Sid, and Dan.
"Dude be careful who you jump scare! I've seen people get all their teeth knocked out by the scared person's involuntary impulses!" Dan barked.
While Sid was getting up to head to the counter the cashier replied to Dan saying; "Sorry, Mister Sherly."
The cashier placed two boxes of pizza and my Bloody Mary on the counter beside the cash register.
"How much is this?" Sid queried.
"Fifty, ninty-three."
"Oh wow that's a lot." Sid barked while digging through her jean pockets.
I looked back to where the creepy guy in the window was standing. He was no longer in the window spying on us.
"I forgot my wallet at home." Sid barked.
Dan pulled out a fifty dollar bill and a one dollar bill and placed it on the counter.
"You are seventeen you can't buy alcoholic beverages." the cashier said monotonously.
"I'm not the one drinking it dude. Let Miss Boulanger have her drink. I gave you the money." Dan argued.
"Fine...." barked the cashier.
"Oh also that business thing Hannah, you'll need to get a performance license for Bonnie Tyler since I'm covering one of her songs. Total Eclipse of the Heart." Dan barked.
The cashier then mouthed something. I had no idea what she was saying....
"Hey! I can lip read y'know. I can tell your manager and bail out on paying you five mil and give it to the same manager for you saying deranged things like that." Dan barked, "Y'know what how about I just give the manager the money and tell 'em what you...."
The cashier suddenly grabbed Dan's shirt collar, pulled it and Dan's upper body over the counter, and starting punching him in the face.
Me and Sid jumped out of our seats.
"I think it would be a good idea to move to the back." Sid barked.
After about seven punches in the face Dan pulled out a knife from his jeans pocket and stabbed the cashier in the shoulder. The cashier flinched and let go of Dan who's face was now all bloodied and the glasses on his face were now crooked.
"Hey Rexa clip the last five minutes, email it to Westview Eatery manager and forward it to the police." Dan barked.
A loud beeping noise emitted from Dan's glasses.
"You see that? GamFyre smart glasses! Very useful for safety reasons like reporting psychos like you to law enforcement." Dan barked, "Now I need a breather."
He walked up to the entrance of the building and started pushing the doors open with full strength. Once the doors were fully open he walked out side and out of sight.
I looked at the cashier with a frown on my face. The cashier had a smug look on her face. I put one of my hands behind my back and balled it into a fist. Sid stared at me as if she knew what I was about to do and nodded. Suddenly I swung my fist up the cashier's face and sent them flying into the wall unconscious.
"Yeah, show that bitch what she deserved!" Sid barked.
Sid picked up the pizzas and the Bloody Mary and started walking to the same door Dan walked out of.
"C'mon let's go home." Sid said ecstatically.
After waiting for the door to open we both got back to the car. I opened the drivers door for Sid who then got into the car. Closed her door and I went to my side of the car and got in.
Sid handed me my Bloody Mary and she set the pizzas in the back seat behind me.
I took a sip of my drink and then put it into the cup holder.
We then put our seatbelts on and Sid started up the car engine and started driving.
"I'm going to take a nap." I said.
"Go for it. You had a long day. You definitely deserve some rest." Sid replied.
I closed my eyes and in about a minute I had fallen asleep.
